An elderly businessman is shot dead in his home with no signs of forced entry. Montalbano discovers the man was widely disliked, revelaing a host of potential murderers! Further complications arise when it’s revealed he was poisoned as well as shot – could Montalbano be hunting for multiple killers?

ACCORDING TO PROCEDURE

An unknown woman’s body is found, naked but for a blood-soaked robe. Montalbano initially suspects she is a prostitute, prompting fears of a clash with the mafia. But an assassination attempt on Montalbano suggests that the woman’s death was ordered from on high, and the stakes suddenly become very high indeed for Montalbano’s team.
